Freediving is special because every time we hold our breath and our face touches water, the Mammalian Dive Reflex works to slow down the heart rate, making us feel more calm. And since there is no oxygen tank, it's like a sport that requires finning effort. Many use pool training as a workout instead of running or going to the gym.
