FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Compilation of common questions

Can I learn freediving if I can't swim?

Even if you can't swim, you can learn freediving because finning skills will be taught. However, some courses like Molchanovs require swimming continuously for 200m. Our instructors can teach basic swimming skills to help you pass the 200m requirement.

Can I learn freediving if I am older?

You can learn if you are healthy and have no underlying medical conditions. If there are underlying conditions, we have a medical questionnaire for a doctor to assess if you can freedive. If permitted, you can learn.

Which course should I take?

For beginners, we recommend the Lap1/Wave1 course, which lays the foundation. For those who attended Lap1/Wave1 or Level1 from other institutes, you can upgrade to Lap2/Wave2.

Where are the classes held?

Classes are held at various pools in Bangkok, such as Mahidol Salaya, Seascout Therdthai 77, Sivalai Charan 12, and others. Please ask the admin for more details.

What days are classes available?

Usually, classes are every Saturday and Sunday, but weekdays are also possible. Please ask the admin for more details.

What are the benefits of freediving?

Freediving is special because every time we hold our breath and our face touches water, the Mammalian Dive Reflex works to slow down the heart rate, making us feel more calm. And since there is no oxygen tank, it's like a sport that requires finning effort. Many use pool training as a workout instead of running or going to the gym.
